About us
David W. Evans, CPA, CFP
David has been a practicing CPA for more than 25 years. He passed all five parts of the CPA exam in his first attempt and his results scored in the top 5% across the nation.
His first accounting job was with Arkansas Western Gas. He started public accounting with the firm of Scarbrough & Murtishaw in Fayetteville, Arkansas in 1995. While there, he gained valuable experience in tax preparation, auditing, and compilation. He became the lead auditor for the firm before he left in 1997.
David took the managing CPA position for the firm Day, McGuire and Keels in Siloam Springs 1997. While with Day, McGuire and Keels, David began to develop a high level of expertise in corporate, partnership and individual tax preparation. In 2000, David purchased the Siloam Springs office of Day, McGuire and Keels and merged it with Michael Houston's CPA firm to form Houston, Evans and Company CPA's. While an owner/partner at Houston, Evans and Company, David became a licensed Personal Financial Specialist & Certified Financial Planner. During this time, David expanded the firm's services in the areas of advanced tax, estate & financial planning.
In 2005, David sold his interest in the Siloam Springs firm and opened his independent firm in Grove, Oklahoma. David purchased Gayle Edmondson's CPA firm in 2008 and now has offices in Grove & Miami, Oklahoma. David was born and raised in Siloam Springs, Arkansas. He graduated from John Brown University in 1993, and married his wife Cheryl that same year. They have two wonderful children. The family has resided in Grove, Oklahoma since 2004. Davids wife, Cheryl, owns and operates Studio 31 Photography (www.studio31photography.com). The family is actively involved in their church and community.
